a place of residence on their own. A majority of our students live in
private rented apartments. Other alternatives include rental apartments
offered by The Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region

be applied for beforehand. Students accepted on the English degree
programme should contact the DSS office if they have accommodation needs
Dining
The
Campus has a restaurant and a combined cafe and kiosk, which are both open
Mon-Thu from 7.30am to 6.00pm, and Fridays from 7.30am to 3.00pm. A
student is entitled to the standard discount for student meals as provided
by the meal subsidy offered by KELA. The price of lunch with the student
discount is 2.35 € at the time of writing. The KELA student
meal subsidy card can be obtained from the student secretary at Student
Services. If you have a valid SAMOK student card, you do not need the
aforementioned card. Either card should always be presented when
purchasing a meal. Without a card the meal will be priced normally, even
for a student.

student’s health services are arranged by the City of järvenpää. The nurse
is available on campus on two days of the week.
All health services
provided by the nurse are free, including guidance in health care,
personal conversations, necessary medicals, vaccinations, granted sick
leave, and first aid in case of sickness or accident. If necessary, the
nurse can also redirect a patient to extensive care.
A student may
also visit a health centre emergency room or a dental emergency room when
necessary. In such a case, Health care and dentist services are charged
for.
Exchange students
All exchange
students have to take travel insurance for the duration of their studies
in Finland. If during the time you are studying in Finland you decide to
make one or more study trips abroad, you have to make sure your travel
insurance will be valid during these study trips as well.

Unobstructed
movement on campus is not possible. The buildings do not have elevators.

The
campus strives, when it is possible, to arrange the necessary support to
students with special needs. Any inquiries should be made well ahead of
time. The student will, however, be expected to provide any necessary
personal aids themselves.
